It started with uncertainty.

It did not start with success. Chris Chan’s lived experience shaped a belief that greater financial freedom should not depend on privilege.

Portrait of Chris Chan, founder of tmrwX
The beginning

“I did not begin with capital, influential connections or any obvious advantage.”

I came from a humble background where money was never an abstract concept. It shaped everyday decisions, created uncertainty and often determined what opportunities were possible.

I loved learning, teaching and helping people solve problems. Over time, I became more interested in the thinking behind better decisions than in transactions or products.

The turning point
“Working harder changed my circumstances. Designing deliberately changed my life.”
Chris Chan

The deepest lessons were not about status. They were about how clearer thinking, consistent decisions and intentional use of resources can create more choice over time.

Success and failure both became teachers. They changed how Chris thought about work, money and what a well-lived life could mean.

Why tmrwX

Choice is more valuable than status.

Financial independence gave me something more valuable than status: choice. The choice to build technology, teach, mentor, spend time where it matters and pursue work for its purpose, not only for its pay.

tmrwX is my way of turning that lived experience into a movement. Not a formula to copy. Not a promise of the same result. A place for Malaysians to gain clarity, learn from one another and design a future with more freedom, purpose and possibility.

The next chapter

Build the future with greater intention.

Come for the ideas. Stay for the conversations, experiences and people moving in the same direction.
